Happy National Sports Day 2026
Moving, Growing, and Learning Together at Puhua

Banyumas—Every September 9, Indonesia commemorates National Sports Day. This day is rooted in the spirit of the first National Sports Week, which was opened in Solo on September 9, 1948, and was later established through a Presidential Decree as National Sports Day. In 2026, this commemoration will mark the 43rd National Sports Day.
For Puhua School, sports are not just about sweating, running faster, or being a winner in competitions. The field is a learning space that is just as important as the classroom.
Through Physical Education learning from Early Years to Secondary School, Puhua provides every student with the opportunity to be active according to their age and stage of development. Children learn coordination, balance, agility, strength, and sports skills. More than that, they learn that the process is far more important than just the final result, which is to be brave enough to try even if they are not yet skilled, to practice consistently, to accept feedback, and to rise when the results do not meet expectations.
Every Wednesday, the students of Puhua Primary School participate in group exercise. This simple activity has become a positive habit to start the day with a more active body, a fresh mind, and a spirit of togetherness.
Puhua offers dozens of sports options through the Puhua Activity Village (PAV). Through both team and individual sports, students can explore their interests, train discipline, build resilience, and develop social skills. Some children find their confidence while swimming, some learn self-control through martial arts, and others grow through strategy and teamwork in team games.
The spirit of sports in Puhua is also present through various joint activities. The Puhua Olympic Games bring together students, teachers, staff, and parents in an active and communal atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Puhua Basketball Championship serves as a platform for students from various schools in the Barlingmascakeb area to compete, test their abilities, build friendships, and uphold sportsmanship.
