Speak Up, Step Up! Puhua Holds English Summer Camp 2026 with City University of New York (CUNY)

Banyumas—In an increasingly connected global era, a person's success is no longer measured solely by academic achievements. Today's children are expected to have communication skills, adaptability, the ability to build cross-cultural relationships, and the courage to express ideas in an ever-expanding space.
It is at this point that Puhua School asserts itself: not just a school, but a launching pad for the younger generation to step into the global world.
As part of this commitment, Puhua School, in collaboration with the City University of New York (CUNY), is once again organizing the Puhua English Summer Camp 2026 with the theme "Speak Up, Step Up." This theme is not just a slogan, but a genuine invitation for students to not only understand the language but also to be brave in speaking, discussing, leading, and expressing ideas with confidence.

The event taking place from July 30 to August 1, 2026, at the Grand Kanaya Hotel in Baturraden is attended by Secondary School students in grades 8–12. For three full days, English serves as the primary language of communication in every activity. A variety of interactive activities, ranging from communication games, creative challenges, roleplay and storytelling, teamwork activities, debate and discussion, leadership activities, to performance projects and final student performances, are designed to transform the learning space into a space for self-actualization.
Children do not just "attend class," but are truly encouraged to Speak Up (dare to voice their opinions) and Step Up (advance in their thinking and behavior).

Presenting experienced facilitators from The City University of New York (CUNY):
- • Prof. Linda Ann Pelc, PhD, linguist and instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) at LaGuardia Community College.
- • Prof. Marshella Lie, EdD, CLIP Professor (CUNY Language Immersion Program) at Hostos Community College.
- • Prof. Cynthia Wiseman, EdD, Professor of Academic Literacy and Linguistics at Borough of Manhattan Community College.
Together with the English teachers at Puhua School, they accompany each session with a communicative and collaborative approach, providing students with many opportunities to practice speaking, exchange ideas, and actively use English in various real-life situations.
Puhua English Summer Camp 2026 is a statement of commitment from Puhua School to equip students with 21st-century skills: functional English language proficiency, confidence to perform and express opinions, critical thinking and collaboration skills, as well as the courage to lead and take roles within a group.
Puhua Jiayou!
